Rum Lad #3
This zine is for those who are artistically inclined and appreciative of really solid drawings with a punk sensibility. Steve shows us his world through his art work and accompanying journal entries. It is like a pretty concise travel book written and drawn by an obsessed music fan. It's hard to sum up, but well worth a look.

Rum Lad #4
Steve goes on an adventure to the Mulheim zine fest in Germany. Quickly all his plans go awry. His traveling partner falls ill and goes home and Steve is left to make friends on his own. Just as with every zine fest, Steve ends up questioning why he would travel hundreds f miles to sell approximately five copies of his zine. But, there is no despair in these beautifully drawn pages. There is humor and gorgeousness in even the portraits of the grittiest crust punks. I love Steve's art and this issue has even improved from the precious Rum Lad (how is that even possible?)!

Shock and Consequence
This is an intense zine that MAY BE TRIGGERING. Constructing in just two nights, this confessed in journals, prose, and fleeting memories of sexual assault, disassociation, self-injury and depression. It is about laying it all in the open in order to heal. Really honest, and please read with care.

shortandqueer #1-9
This anthology of Kelly's zines (up to this day) is jam packed with awesomeness! He wraps the package with a nice thread (because he's crafty, you know?) and gives us some model poses for the cover. The package contains issues 1-9, as we witness Kelly's unabashed wanderings through life, relationships, positive outlook, and hillarious stories.

shortandqueer #10
Oh, holy shit sports fans! This excellent zine discusses Kelly's lifelong love of the Philadelphia Phillies and his desire to reclaim a radical queer space in sports. Oh yeah! There are hilariously embarrassing photos, journal entries, and even a reprint of an eighth grade report on discrimination in baseball. Even if you don't like sports, I think this is a very interesting and funny read.

shortandqueer #12
After slacking on taking his testosterone, Kelly gets his period for the first time in four years. The inconvenience turns into a novelty as Kelly searches for proper underpants and accessories in the middle of a zine tour. He also vividly recounts the story of when he got his first period when he was 10. And a whole bunch of guest writers (including lb of truckface, jami of no better voice and amber of culture slut) share their horrifying moments in crotch bleeding history. Fun fun funny!

shortandqueer #6
After transitioning, Kelly find himself as part of the boys-only club, with others expecting him to take part in misogynistic jokes, references to wieners, and fitting into the societal standards for masculinity. It is not only funny but really fucking rad! RECOMMENDED!

shortandqueer #7
Kelly can always make crack a smile even in the hardest of times. Issue seven was compiled for the Denver zine fest and has a mishmash of stories from fifth grade slumber parties to awkward conversation with co-workers. As always, short and queer never disappoints even the most bitter folks around!

shortandqueer #8
Many of Kelly's zines have been lighthearted, awkward and really funny, since he generally has a positive outlook on life. Yet this issue of shortandqueer illustrates another side of Kelly as he learns to stand up for himself, his boundaries, his identity and definitions when others have painfully disregarded them. This zine was necessary for him, but also necessary to shake up the folks that continue to disparage transgender individuals.

This issue is all about black outsider artists! Osa interviews James Spooner, who directed AfroPunk, video performance artist Jacob Gardens, highlights the folk art of Adee Roberson and writes a letter to Vaginal Creme Davis. Totally inspiring for creative people who feel intimidated by degrees, experience, pretension and rules that are never required in the creation of really awesome art!

Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Life #1
Kisha attempted to write a novel in a month and this zine was her solid start. She succinctly writes about her early life experiences as a poor, fat, black, and queer child growing up in Brooklyn. Her stories are mostly comedic with bathroom accidents, accidental friendships, academic excellence and awkward courtships. The writing flows really well and this was an excellent afternoon read! Yeah!
